Why Bacatá
What you get when you work with us
Not every consulting engagement is the same. Here is what makes working with Bacatá a different kind of experience.

Six things that matter
These are not features we list to fill space. They are the things our clients consistently tell us made a difference.
Senior advisors, not delegates
The people who take the first call are the people who do the work. We do not assign engagements to junior staff once you have agreed to proceed.
Listening as the method
We spend considerably more time listening than speaking. Most business problems become clearer when someone actually pays attention to what is being said.
Clear written deliverables
Every engagement ends with something you can read, share with your team, and act on. We write plainly and avoid jargon.
Colombia-rooted knowledge
Our advisory reflects the actual conditions of doing business in Colombia — regulatory, economic, and cultural. We are not applying frameworks designed for other markets.
Fees stated upfront
We publish our prices and stick to them. The fee you agree to at the start is the fee you pay. No scope additions without a separate conversation.
Follow-through after delivery
We check in after the work is done. If something is not working, we want to know and we are willing to revisit our recommendations.
Advisors who have been inside businesses
Our advisors are not career consultants who have only observed business from the outside. Before founding Bacatá, they worked inside companies — in finance, operations, and leadership roles. That background changes how they listen and what they notice.
When you describe a cash flow problem or a team conflict, our advisors have been in situations similar enough to understand what the pressure feels like — not just what the textbook says about it.

Available when it matters
We are a small firm and we keep it that way on purpose. That means you are not waiting for a large team's scheduling process to get time with someone experienced. When you reach out, you hear back quickly from someone senior.
Between formal sessions, Quarterly Companion clients can raise questions by email and receive a considered response — not a holding reply while they wait for the next meeting.
Prices that are easy to understand
Advisory fees are often opaque — quoted per hour with no ceiling, or vaguely described as "market rate." We find that approach uncomfortable for clients who need to budget carefully.
Our three engagements have fixed, published prices. The Direction Session is $120.000 COP. The Quarterly Companion is $210.000 COP for three months. The Foundations Review is $320.000 COP for four weeks. No additions, no ambiguity.
All prices published openly — nothing hidden in a proposal
Fixed fee per engagement, agreed before work begins
Start with a single session — no long-term commitment required
Invoiced in Colombian pesos — no currency exposure for local clients
How We Compare
A different approach to advisory
| Aspect | Typical Providers | Bacatá |
|---|---|---|
| Who delivers the work | Often junior staff after first meeting | Senior advisor throughout |
| Pricing model | Hourly or vague estimates | Fixed fees, published openly |
| Commitment required | Often 6–12 month retainers | Start with a single session |
| Deliverable format | Large reports, often unread | Concise, actionable documents |
| Local market knowledge | Imported international frameworks | Colombia-rooted, current |
| Follow-up after delivery | Rarely included | Built into every engagement |
What Sets Us Apart
Things we do that others do not
A shared document you keep
In the Quarterly Companion, we maintain a living shared document tracking your key decisions and progress. It belongs to you and stays with you after the engagement ends.
Leadership facilitation included
The Foundations Review closes with a facilitated presentation to your leadership group — not just a document dropped in your inbox. We are there to walk through it with the people who need to understand it.
NDA offered proactively
We offer to sign a non-disclosure agreement before any engagement, without waiting to be asked. Your business information is sensitive and we treat it that way from the first conversation.
Three practical priorities, not twenty
Every Direction Session produces exactly three priorities for the coming quarter. Not a list of twenty recommendations that create overwhelm. Three that are achievable and connected to what you told us matters most.

See whether this is the right fit
The clearest way to understand what working with Bacatá is like is to have a short conversation. We are glad to speak without any expectation of commitment on your side.
